Largest group of NHS Inductees

As we near another National Honor Society induction, Devine High School will see the largest number of possible inductees. Nearly seventy students have been given the opportunity to be inducted.

“I’m very proud to be a part of the National Honor Society. It is not an easy thing to be inducted into. This year I feel honored to be the representative of NHS. Being the representative allows me to be a positive example of the kind of people that are in and being inducted,” senior Addison Trojanowski said.

Each year students are selected to be inducted. The criteria has four major things to achieve for membership in the National Honor Society. These include scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

“I am so grateful that my fellow classmates voted me as vice president for NHS. Said senior Noah Brogdon “I hope to lead by example and show what true leadership is.”

To begin the process for consideration, candidates will receive a letter of information and will need to complete the student activity information form. While candidates complete the information form, other information will be gathered about their performance and behavior at school. Parents and students must understand that being selected into the National Honor Society is a priveledge.

“Being given the opportunity to be in NHS is an honor,” junior Alissa Stehle said. “It’s rewarding knowing that all my hard work is going towards something and not to waste.”

Senior officers Addie Trojanowski, Chesney Friesenhahn, Noah Brogdon, and Paige Pickell blow out the candles after the conclusion of the NHS Induction.
