Hoops for heart

The Varsity girls and boys basketball team went to the Intermediate school for hoops for heart. They played basketball games with the kids and got to experience such an overjoying feeling of kids doing some good for the community.

“Being able to play with kids and remembering that used to be us looking up to the varsity players when I was their age was cool,” junior Joe Hernandez said.

The kids were super excited to be able to play with the older kids.

“It was nice putting smiles on the kids faces and being able to play games with them and making them feel special,” junior Angelo Gonzales said.

At a young age they are starting to do things to better the community and to make a difference and that’s what hoops for heart is all about.

“It was nice knowing the kids this young are trying to make a difference and showing some interest to help others out,” junior Beau Cardenas said.

The girl’s basketball team also got to experience being with the little kids and being part of something positive.

“I enjoyed being able to be a part of something that the kids did and being able to play with them was also fun,” junior Tayler Diaz said.
