With a secured spot in the playoffs, the Arabian volleyball team is working to end their district play strong and prepare for the big games to follow. Head Coach Leigh Anne McIver and six seniors have led the team to a 25-11 record and look forward to a long playoff run.

“I’m excited for playoffs because we have the potential to go far if we play to our ability,” junior Abbie Capps said.

Last Tuesday’s 3-0 game against the Hondo Owls secured the Arabians a spot in the playoffs.

“As a team we are very close and it helps us a lot on the court to play together so we can win,” junior Korin Stehle said.

This is Head Coach McIver’s third year in Devine; she has led her team to the playoffs each year.

“I think Coach McIver is such a good coach because she is also our friend who is there for us on and off the court,” senior Kara Stacy said.

The Arabians conclude district with two final away games. The girls will travel to Boerne on Friday, Oct. 23 and to Fredericksburg on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

“These last two district games are going to be exciting and like every game, they will get us ready for playoffs,” junior Abbie Capps said. “Playing the tough competition that we have in district has definitely prepared us for playoffs.”
