My senior year at DHS has finally come to an end, and it was a pretty insane journey, both in and outside of journalism.
I started this school year nervous and anxious, knowing this would be the start of a huge year in my life. A huge year that I would have to face without one of my biggest supporters, my mom.
I wanted to make this year a standout and, of course, make my mom proud.
The start of the school year brought many new beginnings for myself, including my first article being published to The Warhorse.
Being able to have this platform has been such a blessing. I’ve always loved entertaining people and introducing others to my interests. It’s been an absolute pleasure to get to share my expertise with all of you here. Though I mainly covered independent wrestling, I have a few other articles and photo galleries on various topics and events. I enjoyed getting the chance to be versatile and touch on other topics.
Throughout the year, I grew not just as a journalist, but as a person.
Valdez was an astounding teacher to me for the past two years, especially this year as I started my journey on The Warhorse. I remember her being very excited to have me showcasing my unique interest in the local independent wrestling scene. She guided me as I bounced back and forth between ideas, gave me advice, and helped with my articles. She helped me not just in journalism, but also with life advice and wisdom.
Alongside Valdez, my very good friend Kaitlyn Cordova helped me along the way. She was not my teacher but still taught me so much about journalism as a fellow student journalist. Kaitlyn helped keep me motivated in the days where I was not as motivated to work and cheered me on when I accomplished things. She has been a beacon of light to me, and I’m blessed to call her a friend.
I’m very thankful for her support and guidance, alongside Valdez.
What I loved about publishing articles was not just seeing my reach and peers’ thoughts, but getting to write. I might not be the best writer in the world, but it just feels good to express myself and publicize that.
Though at times I hit a writer’s block, I would still find my spark, and when I did, I would have a blast writing.
I wanted this article to be a goodbye to The Warhorse from me, but of course it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t loop this back to one thing I love most in life; independent professional wrestling. I want to give one final spotlight to the people who mean the most to me. In fact, I consider these stars my wrestling family.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to Animo, Armani Sage, Brock Ali, Devin Carter, Diego Renay, Freakshow, J-Fly, Jae Young, Kalientita, Mike Gunne, and Zakai Living. I’m very honored to share their impact with you guys.
Each wrestler’s story is different and unique to them, and I loved getting to hear them all and of course now showcase them.
I cannot wait to see where life takes me, and I will never forget my roots. Thank you all for enjoying my content, goodbye everyone!
