Public School Week, a week to celebrate learning, school attendees, and the people who make school possible. Public School Week for the state of Texas is Feb. 27 through Mar. 3.

“I think public school week is important to celebrate,” junior Trinity Woods said. “I like that we are able to celebrate our achievements.”

Public school week is a time to celebrate and realize all of the hard work that goes into making a school function and what makes it great.

“I like the idea of public school week,” senior Ariel Lopez said. “It’s great to celebrate our school, especially the sports side of it.”

Usually during the week, schools hold open houses. At the open house, students and parents can come visit their teachers and the school.

“Open house nights are fun,” freshman Amy Bailey said. “It’s cool to see your parents and teachers talk about your accomplishments.”

The high school’s open house night is on Feb. 28 from 5:30-7:30. Students and parents are invited to come participate.

“I don’t plan on coming to our open house,” junior Emily Kohlleppel said. “My sister and I will be continuing our FCCLA project at the Elementary’s open house night.”
