Annual OAP festival

The One Act Play performed at a competition in Wimberley on Feb. 15.

“I love going to the Wimberley festival because it’s a place where people get to come together,” senior Aslyn West said. “The whole experience is one I’ll never forget.”

Once the casts and crews arrive, a speech is given to them at the beginning of the festival.

“We eventually are told to make a friend,” West said. “And we always get to.”

Though most have attended this competition before, they enjoy going each time.

“It’s a lot of fun going,” sophomore Logan Gonzalez said. “You always meet the most interesting people.”

OAP teams compete yearly at the Wimberley clinic as a faux competition. Before they perform, the team must put in a tremendous amount of practice. The rehearsals are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:30pm to 6pm.

“The show was not done,” Gonzalez said. “We still have a long way to go.”

District will be on Mar. 9 in Carrizo Springs.
