The Arabian Volleyball team clinched the district title in a hard-fought battle against the Lytle Pirates. The team then advanced, took on the Cuero Gobblers Monday and came out with a win.

“We did what we had to on offense and defense,” senior Chesney Friesenhahn said. “That got us the win.”

There are a great number of goals shared amongst the team. Ultimately, they all have one thing in mind: State.

“It would mean a lot to know we got there together as a team,” senior Makenna Morales said. “We would be the first team to win since 1988.”

To reach their goals, the Arabians will continue to strive for perfection on and off the courts. They take their athletic period and another two hours to practice.

“There is always room to improve on team building and communication,” senior Addison Trojanowski said. “Now is our time to put these things into play.”

Their next playoff game will be against the Rockport-Fulton Pirates on Thursday in Beeville.

“Every game is crucial because we’re in the playoffs,” Friesenhahn said. “We are giving our best effort, so we can come out on top.”

The Arabians huddle up during the game. “The team is very close,” team manager Alexandra Shields said. “It helps with the atmosphere of the game because they know how to pick each other up when they’re down.”
