The softball girls have made a great start this season. Their current record is 5-2 and they have played in one tournament and one game so far this season. Compared to the last year, the softball team has made astonishing improvements.

“We have performed well in all of our scrimmages,” senior Amanda Wilson said. “We have made a lot of improvement from last year and I think the beginning of the season was very promising.”

The team competed in the Navarro tournament this past week and they got seventh place out of 22 teams. At the tournament they won 4 out the 6 games that they played.

“Seeing a variety of pitching benefited us to prepare for our new upcoming district, and I believe it is going to be a great season,” junior Taylor Carr said.

After some weeks of practice and hard work the team played their first game against Pleasanton. They played Pearsall and beat them 10 -8. They will compete in a tournament this week in Fredricksburg.

“Pleasanton is a good team that we have played a lot during the years, and it will be my eleventh time playing them on the varsity level,” senior Brooklyn Anderson said. “The games are always good with them so getting a win felt really good.”
