Baseball is back in action, the Warhorses have been preparing for the upcoming season for quite some time now. Pre-season scrimmages and games have been taking place as of Tuesday, Feb. 7. The Warhorses are excited and ready for a long season of competing, improving, and playing harder than ever.

“One thing I’m really looking forward to is watching the kids compete at higher level than they think they are capable of,” coach George Villa said. “I love watching them grow as players.”

This is a season of higher expectations and teamwork. Working together to play to the best of their ability is a priority for the Warhorses.

“As a team I want them to be able to learn to be committed players,” coach Villa said. I also want them to be able to trust and care for each other on and off the field.”

The Warhorses had a big season opener game. The Horses played Hondo on Tuesday Feb. 21. They came home with a win, but wins and losses aren’t what they are worried about this season.

“As coaches we preach to our players that if they play how they know they can, all of the goals and wins will take care of themselves,” coach Villa said.
