Softball in full swing

Softball season is in full swing. Practices and softball scrimmages have begun, and the Arabian Softball team is off to a spectacular start.

“We have been waiting for the season to start and now that it has we are working hard and enjoying this preseason,” junior Brooklyn Anderson said.

The girls played in a scrimmage on Feb 4 against Uvalde. Another scrimmage followed that, on Feb. 6, in Devine against Natalia. The Arabians outscored the Lady Mustangs. They carried their momentum over to their scrimmage on Feb. 8 against Pleasanton and George West on Feb. 12.

“I am most impressed with our hitting in the scrimmages. We are making good plays all around the field and having a lot of fun,” Anderson said.

There is a new addition to the softball coaching staff. Former Arabian softball player Kailyn Miller is now an assistant coach for Devine. She is bringing many new and exciting aspects to the game.

“I think she is going to be a really good asset to the team. I’m really excited to be coached by her throughout the season,” junior Amanda Wilson said.

Their first game is Monday, Feb. 15 against Pleasanton at home. JV will play at 5:00 and varsity at 7:00.
