Powerlifters qualify for state meet in Corpus Christi

Arabian Powerlifters Victoria R. Hernandez, and Shelby Carrillo have qualified at regoinals and are now heading off to state at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi.

” I feel excited and acomplished. I want to get more gains out of it and it will also be a great learning experience,” junior Shelby Carrillo said.

The following Arabian powerlifters went to regionals: senior Victoria Hernandez, 5th, senior Keisha Flores 8th, senior Jessi Juarez 10th, and junior Shelby Carrillo 5th.

” I am proud of all of my teamates  who competed at regionals they worked hard to accomplish many goals and strive to do their best.” Carrillo said.

As powerlifting is coming to an end for few there is still two Arabians who still have goals to be acheived. With state only one weekend away the practices are more intense then ever.

” I have accomplished what I have been waiting for this memont since the seasons has started. Watching as each light went on was a big relief and over whelming to know that ive made it to state.” senior Victoria Hernandez said.

Dedication and hard work is what makes these powerlifters determined to win and to never give up no matter how tough the events might become.
