Warhorses vs. Warhorses: baseball team holds annual alumni game

Warhorse baseball players, old and new, battled against each other at the annual alumni game Sat. Feb. 8th.

The alumni game is a tradition upheld to keep both current and ex-players in good-natured competition and enjoy the game that they all love.

“It’s always a good time to catch up with old players and hear their stories about when they were Warhorses,” senior Cody Trivino said.

Although the graduated Warhorses beat the current team, both teams enjoyed each others presence. Both sides like to tell stories of their games and tournaments about as much as they like playing the game itself.

“I’m excited to see how the team plays this season,” coach Rene Muniz said. “ It’s always a good time to share and listen to the stories of current and older Warhorses.”

Even though the older Warhorses won, both teams walked away with laughs and memories that they shared during and after the game.  The Warhorse baseball season is about to begin, and they play their first game on Mon. Feb. 17 against the Bandera Bulldogs.
