Spread Kindness

In a world where people can be so hateful, so quickly, it is important to remember what everyone is taught at a young age. “If you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.”

Everyone should make an effort to spread a little more kindness throughout their life.

This is a hard truth to bear, but usually it is harder to be nice to someone or something than it is to be mean. The world is becoming a place where being rude or hateful is the standard, when really it should not be. People should think about what they are going to say before they say it and ask themselves, “Is this nice and kind?” If the answer is no, then one should probably not say it. If this became the standard, the world and communities we live in will be more enjoyable and pleasant.

Sometimes being kind means to keep silent, and that’s okay too. If a situation would benefit from no response or talking, then that’s the way it should be. It all goes back to the saying if it’s not nice, don’t say it. If everyone is taught this important lesson as a young child, why is it so hard to remember that lesson as people get older? Even more so, the teenagers and adults should be setting the example for those younger.

A common response to being mean is, “they did it to me.” When really, there is no excuse for being rude. If someone is being rude, then the other person should set the example by being nice back. It may be hard, but the world won’t make it much longer if the answer to ill-mannered people is to be respond with meanness. It would become this never-ending cycle of hatefulness, which is no way to live.

In the ever-changing world where things move fast, people must remember the lesson they are taught at such a young age. If it is not nice, don’t say it, and always remember to spread kindness.
