Family time best time

Cell phones, social media, and electronics have created a new way of living. Because of this new way of life, families lose interest in each other and they aren’t as connected as a family.

Family members need to put the electronics and social media away, and spend more time together.

When kids are busy with their electronics and social media accounts, they are only focused on that. Parents can offer the most important life lessons that a child would need in their life, but if they’re busy tweeting or snap chatting they lose out on those opportunities to learn. Kids should be aware of the lessons they are missing out on, and put their phones down for a while.

A family is a support system, and letting your family know what is going on in your life is important so they can support you. Family dinner probably isn’t even a thing anymore and that’s sad. During dinner with your family, you are able to see what is going on with each other and stay in touch. Without that connection, you are kind of alone and left in the dark without anyone to support you.

Around the holidays, family time is especially important. During Christmas, families get together, but that’s it. They’re just together. When families are around each other they should talk with one another and get to know what is going on in each other’s lives, especially your aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins, the people you don’t see very often.

While this new way of life is great and has improved many things like staying in touch with your friends or extended family, your immediate family is forever. While you have the time, you should get to know their interests and the true person they are. Twitter and Instagram will only get you so far with your friends.

If families would put their phone down for a couple hours a day or have family dinner without electronics, family time would be improved. Your family is your family, and you should do everything you can to stay in touch with them and support them.
