This past week, the FFA team traveled to Bandera to compete in Soil & Plants.

Tracen Rice, junior, said he and his teammates are satisfied with their results. “Monday’s competition was fun,” he said. “We, the Plant ID team, won 1st in the district and we all did pretty good.”

Jack Schneider, junior, said the Land Team also placed at the competition. “We got 3rd in district and yeah, we did good.” Team members said they hope to rank higher in next year’s meet.

“It was fun, and hopefully we do better next year,” Blain Davis, junior, said.

The FFA teams are preparing to compete this spring. FFA Coach Adriana Segura said the next set of competitions are the speaking events in the spring. Segura expects the team to excel in those competitions as well.

“So this was the only fall event that we have for now, but we are working towards success in our spring events and our fall events,” Segura said.
