The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is a new faith based organization for the students at DHS. The FCA had their first official meeting Monday Sep. 25, at the high school gym.

“There was a big turnout for our first meeting,” coach Jim Sessions said.

“I think it went well, and hopefully more people show up as the meeting progress.”

The FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering, and encouraging people to make a difference based on their faith. Everybody was welcome to coming to the meeting.

The meeting was awesome and a good experience,” Karli Geyer said. “It’s really great to see the young generation gathered together according to our faith.”

The meeting on Monday opened in prayer and consisted of pizza, mingling, and getting to know more about the new organization. The meeting was run by the sponsors, coach Sessions and coach Leigh Anne McIver. There will be more meetings in the future.

“The meeting went well, I was really impressed with the amount of people that showed up,” junior Gehrig Runyan said. “The energy was great, and nerve free.”
