This year FCCLA has fifteen members advancing to state with their projects and presentations. Those members include Karsyn Brown, Hunter Moss, Madison Cumpian, Cassandra Elias, Makayla Breiten, Olivia Zapata, Kelli Geyer, Karma Herring, Brian Schaefer, Analea Brooks, Caleb Martin, Andrea Sanchez, Caitlyn Breiten, Jamie Courtade, and Jojo Villanueva.

“I’m really honored and excited to be going to State again for FCCLA,” junior Kelli Geyer said. “It’s a great experience and this year Karma and I’s project is about having healthy lifestyles, mentally and physically, so it’s really cool that we can talk to others and help them
through our project.”

Geyer and Herring are the only group that has made it to National’s more than once. This will be their third year in a row advancing to state

“I was really happy to hear that we are going to state again,” junior Karma Herring said. “After this is National’s and this being our third year in a row advancing to state, it feels like we are doing some-
thing right.”

This year will also be senior Caitlyn Breiten’s third year advancing to state. Her project is called “Say Yes to FCS” and it is about learning how to become a Family Consumer Science Teacher. She has learned different skills from observing classrooms, making lesson plans, and conducting activities.

“I am very excited that I have advanced to state and I’m hoping for good results since this is my last year,” Breiten said. “As a senior, I think what I am going to miss most about FCCLA is the relationships and friendships you create with other FCCLA members.”
