The DHS Warhorse Band competed at the 2014 Region 11 UIL Marching Contest in Hondo on October 18. They performed their show entitled “Pyramids of Egypt” and scored a 2-2-1 from the three judges, which is an overall score of 2.

“I believe we did really well,” sophomore Tristan Woods said. “I think it was definitely worth a superior performance.”

The band worked hard every day leading up to the big competition, something that was evident in the rewarding score they received.

“I think we did awesome,” senior Wesley Gan said. “Everyone in the band did the best that they possibly could.”

Every member of the band played an important role in the competition and they were all very happy with how they did, including head band director Jeff Miller.

“I am extremely proud of the enormous progress made this year,” Mr. Miller said. “Our students truly performed a superior show on Saturday to me. Great job Warhorse Band.”
