Hear ye! Hear ye! This year’s fall play is titled Saving the Greeks One Tragedy at a Time, by Jason Pizzarello. The play is directed by Ms. Desiree Chappelle. In a plan to bring peace to Ancient Greece, Dialysis and Peon create Betterland, a city where once-doomed tragic characters can start a better life. But this new society of refugees must face enemies and gods who don’t tolerate free will or utopian ideas. Putting together the stories of Ancient Greek characters from Oedipus to Hercules this hilarious tale of the classics asks the question “is it possible to escape your own fate?”
The cast that will be making this play come alive is Gavin Been as Dialysis, James Pedroza as Peon, Catherine Duncan as Lysistrata, Tristan Wood as Achilles/Hercules/Prometheus, Mason Honig as Aristotle/Tiresias, Abraham Lara Oedipus/King Beta, Joni Hill as Jocasta/Clytemnestra, Frances Duncan as Phaedra/Cassandra, Jessica Gonzalez as Shepard/Chores #5, Julia Martinez as Hera/Helen, Severin Stewart as Cyclops/Zeus, Jaylin Stewart as Electra/chorus, Samantha Ramirez as the Messanger, Emily Dudley as Medea/chorus, Anthony Robledo as Agamemnon/Audience member, Cody Campbell as the soldier, and Emily Kohlleppel, Haley Walters, Paige Reyna and Shi Mercer as Chorus.
“I expect a lot from this years fall play because we have a very talented cast that can deliver the comedy and tragedy,” junior Anthony Robeldo said.
Everyone can expect a well directed play this year with many hilarious moments that will be enjoyable to the audience. The first performance will be December 4.
