On February 6,2013 the CX debate teams competed in district. Out of the teams three of them placed. The following students placed in district; junior Kyle Saathoff and senior Ceasar Garza with first place, freshman Anthony Robledo and freshman Seth Prugh with third place and freshman Alexis Jimenez and freshman Madison Mello with fourth place. Caesar and Kyle will be advancing to state March 10-12th with Madison, Alexis, Anthony and Seth as alternates for the competing team. Congratulations to those who placed and good luck to the advancing team.
UIL academic teams will be competing in the district meet in Hondo on March 23, 2013. Every team will be competing in Hondo, hoping to advance to the Regional meet.
“I hope I get to advance because I’ve been working really hard all year,” sophomore Maya Zenon said, “All of us have put a lot of time and effort into practicing for this competition.”
There are numerous hours that go into practicing for UIL events. Many students go home and practice writing prompts or practice quizzes each and every day.
“Everyday when I go home I practice writing stories in a certain amount of time,” sophomore Brooke Sumners said, “I really want to advance toRegionals and maybe even farther to state this year.”
One Act Play will be attending a festival in Wimberley on Feb. 23 2013. This festival is to prepare the actors for District competition. District will be in Lytle on March 27, 2013.
“I believe we are on the right track for successfully winning district,” director James Reyes said.
