During the Christmas break most teens would prefer to stay at home or visit family. This was not the case for sophomore James Pompa. He spent most of his Christmas break building a pavilion for his fellow peers.
“I built the pavilion because I wanted the students at my school to have protection from the weather,” Pompa said. “ I really enjoyed building the pavilion.”
James is involved in a cub scout troop along with two other high school students. The troop came up with the idea during one of their monthly meetings.
“We all decided to build a pavilion, it doubled as community service and doing something great for our school.” Pompa said,” We had a lot of fun building the pavilion.”
The supplies for building this pavilion cost a pretty penny and the Cub scout troop was at a loss for how they would pay for it. That was .until the school graciously decided to donate the funds.
“I would like to thank my troop and the school for all the hard work and determination to make this dream come true during such a short period of time.”
