Volleyball declaws Carrizo Springs Wildcats

The Arabians won their first district game versus the Carrizo Springs Wildcats in just three games this past Friday, Sep. 27.

“We went out to Carrizo and beat ’em as we should have,” senior Cynthia Ramirez said, “I’m really proud of my team.”

The Arabians couldn’t have gotten there without teamwork, practicing, and putting in the hours of preparations. The girls handle all of these methods on and off the practice court.

“Our goal as a team this season is to go undefeated in district,” junior Alyssa Ramirez said, “So far, reaching our goal is right on track.”

The team of girls aren’t only physically preparing, they’re mentally preparing as well. The girls look for their opponents next move before their opponent even ponders that move.

“Before a game I concentrate on everything I’ve practiced, everything I need to do win and perform the best I can,”  Alyssa said. “I mentally play out the game in my head and prepare for any situation that could happen.”
