After completing a great track season, three of Devine’s senior athletes Joseph Espinosa, Bekah Reyes, and Jose Cantrell were awarded with honorable awards for their hard work inside the classroom and out on the track.
“It’s an honor to represent Devine as a student athlete, the coaches are constantly reminding us to be students first and I’m just trying to lead by example,” Joseph said.
Joseph received first team honors, Jose received honorable mention honors, and Bekah received honorable mention as well. Along with that, these three athletes were also named to the academic all-state track team sponsored by the Texas High School Coaches Association in conjunction with the United States Marine Corps.
“Receiving this award really mean a lot, because they not only notice your performance on the track, but in school as well,” Jose said.
Devine represented the Warhorse and Arabian athletic program well both in and out of the classroom.
“It’s an honor for my coaches to recommend me for the award. I’ve always prided myself on being a student athlete,” Bekah said.
