Depression in teens

Elizabeth Puente, Staff writer

It has been said that teens can get severe depression in high school. However, with the lack of education on the single largest medical related cause of death, most teens don’t know how to solve their problems.

Many students will learn about different life learning lessons during their high school career such as solving a simple math problem or learning about different type of diseases and cancers.

Depression, particularly for teens could be described as an invisible illness. Some may notice symptoms of depression such as restless sleep, lack of eating, mood swings, behavior, and no interaction inside and outside of school.

This illness needs to be watched more often and taken care of in a professional manner. If depression is not taken care of carefully it can get seriously out of hand causing students take their life away and harm themselves or others.
