The 2016 election is big talk all around the country. November 8, 2016 will be the 58^th United States presidential election. As candidates are insulting and obscene to each other, the election is even more intense.

Donald Trump, republican, is known for calling people out and slandering his candidates online, during interviews and during debates. He is currently first in the running. Trump has recently been saying he can “sniff out” terrorism. He claimed that he felt that Osama Bin Laden was sketchy, before 911 happened. He has been saying that Obama has “weak and ineffective leadership” because of the attacks in Paris. His attacks on celebrities and public officials have gained him a lot of publicity, both in a negative and positive way.

Ben Carson, another republican, is another popular candidate. He is a retired neurosurgeon and was also the first surgeon to successfully separate conjoined twins. He is currently second in the running. Personality wise, Carson has beaten Trump. According to a recent poll, 60% of Americans have voted that Carson is more honest and trustworthy than Trump and they believe he can help more people. 62% vote that Carson will work more adequately.

The Democrats running are Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley and Bernie Sanders. The most popular out of these three is Clinton, mostly because she is the only woman. She believes that they need to work on helping everyone, not just the “wealthy and well-connected.” Martin O’Malley was the 61^st Governor. Bernie Sanders is the longest-serving independent in the United States Congressional history.

As the debates continue on, the heat rises. Candidates bash each other and are willing to do whatever it takes to get to the top. It will be a long year with all the drama that comes with the presidential election. Only time will tell the results of next year’s election.
