Helpful tips and tricks for studying for the ACT/SAT tests

Many high school students at this time of year are taking their SAT and or ACT college exams. Most are stressing out and worrying that they wont get a good enough score but there’s no need to panic and pull out your hair because with just a few simple tips and facts about these test you can get the courage you need to ace these exams.

To start off, taking the right test is key. Colleges except either test so it comes down to choosing which exam is best. If straightforward, easy to understand questions with every subject including trigonometry, then the ACT is best. If a little more complicated wording with complex vocabulary, broken sections and reading with critical thinking and math then the SAT is probably best.

Although most teenagers dislike taking test, these exams are very beneficial to ones future. These are the exams that almost every college looks at, and most can say that these exams will determine whether or not someone can even get into college at all. Yes the questions may be difficult but all there is to do is this: sleep, prepare, study and believe.

Sleep is a very important thing to consider the week of the exam. So putting down the remote and getting off the phone are crucial when trying to establish a routine. The average teen in America needs more than nine hours of sleep a night, so going to bed at 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. should give you enough sleep for the night is you wake up at 7:00 the next morning.

In order to prepare physically the morning before the test, a good breakfast is essential because after all, a good breakfast is the best way to start off the day. During the SAT exam they will allows breaks in between sections, so be sure to take something healthy for fuel, like a water bottle and some fruit.

The physical being isn’t the only part of the body that needs to prepare.  Studying is also something that needs to be taken under consideration. Yes the questions may or may not be difficult to understand but it’s never a bad idea to go through some old notes and review. Everyone should also be very aware of vocabulary words that one may not understand and use context clues to help understand the questions.

The last and final thing needed to do before the exam is believe. In order to have the courage one needs to take this test you must believe that you can pass, that’s it! Just those four simple steps is all you need to prepare for the life changing college exams.
