FFA gears up for CDE’s

Now that the livestock show is over FFA will be buckling down and getting ready for the Career Development Events (CDE’s).

  “CDE’s give students the skills they need if they want to pursue a career in the Ag field,” agricultural teacher Adrianna Segura said. “CDE’s includes events such as Nursery, Landscape, Entomology and Vet Med.”

These events not only teach the students about future careers but helps strengthen their communication, leadership and teamwork skills.

“I’ve always had trouble speaking in front of people until this year,” freshman Tristian Erwin said. “After joining FFA, and with the help of Mrs. Segura I feel like I will be successful in the upcoming competitions.”

This spring the FFA will compete in CDE’s across TX, these events in College Station, Sam Houston State University and Stephenville.
