District marching contest

Excitement filled the air in Hondo as the area Marching Bands competed at the District contest. The Warhorse Marching Band took the field Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.

“When I first stepped on the filed nothing else mattered but my performance,” junior Ariel Ramirez said.

The band performed selections from Phantom of the Opera, selection  one – Phantom of the Opera, selection two – Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again and selection three – Masquerade. Members of the band have been working since July to prepare for this contest. The judges score for the bands performance was a Division II.

“We were somewhat disappointed with the judges score. We felt we had a really amazing show,” junior Andres Martinez said.
