Superman’s universe might feel familiar to Spider-Verse fans, and The Summer I Turned Pretty’s finale proves why well-crafted stories leave a lasting impact. DHS News explores the unexpected connections, iconic storytelling choices, and emotional beats that make these pop-culture moments truly memorable.
Charles Stricker: Hey, is that a plane?
Daniel Enriquez: Yo, it’s Superman, guys!
Aaron Gomez: Wait, which Superman? There’s Christopher Reeve, Henry Cavill, and Dean Cain.
Stricker: I think it was Christopher Reeve, though — that’s pretty cool.
Enriquez: Yeah, Christopher Reeve did have four movies.
Gomez: Which ones?
Enriquez: Superman: The Movie, Superman II, Superman III, and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace. The last one wasn’t really well-received, though.
Stricker: No, that has to be him. He just looks like it — like the Man of Steel.
Gomez: I think it might’ve been Superman Returns because of the suit.
Enriquez: Nah, I still think it looked like Reeve’s version.
Stricker: So tell us about those movies.
Enriquez: Sure. In Christopher Reeve’s movies, he goes up against Lex Luthor in the first one. The second movie features General Zod from Krypton. The third movie has a scientist who uses kryptonite, which makes Superman turn evil for a while. The fourth movie has him fighting Lex Luthor’s creation, Nuclear Man — but that one had a lot of budget cuts and plot holes, so it didn’t do very well.
Gomez: You know what’s interesting? All the Superman movies kind of have the same plot.
Stricker: Yeah, Lex Luthor’s always the bad guy, and kryptonite is always the problem.
Enriquez: Exactly. And that connects to how the Spider-Verse works — same idea, different versions of the hero.
Gomez: True. The Super-Verse — or Crypto-Verse — has its own alternate versions too, like Injustice Superman, who becomes a tyrant after the Joker kills Lois Lane.
Stricker: And there’s even Batman v Superman, where Batman fights Superman because he turns bad — kind of like in Superman Returns, when Superman leaves Earth and everyone forgets him, even Lois.
Gomez: That’s just like Spider-Man! Everyone forgets him too. It’s all connected.
Enriquez: Yeah, there are a lot of parallels between the Spider-Verse and the Super-Verse — or Crypto-Verse, whatever you want to call it.
Brooklyn Hinnant: What’s up, guys! Today, we’re going to be talking about the three main characters in The Summer I Turned Pretty and their love triangle.
Dresden Talamantes: If you’re not familiar, the show centers on three main characters: Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah. Belly and Jeremiah were together for a while, but things changed. Now, Belly’s trying to figure out which brother truly puts in the effort to be with her.
Hinnant: Conrad Fisher is another part of the love triangle. Many fans like him for his looks, but today we’re talking about his flaws. A lot of viewers questioned why he would confess his love for his brother’s girlfriend, and they noticed he struggles to commit to a relationship, which caused a lot of conflict between him and Jeremiah.
Bella Perez: Now, Belly, the main character, is pretty indecisive about who she wants. Fans are constantly debating who she’ll pick next, which makes the story interesting but also frustrating.
Hinnant: What’s up, guys? Today, we’re going to be talking about the three main characters in The Summer I Turned Pretty.
Talamantes: So, if you don’t already know about the three main characters in The Summer I Turned Pretty and their love triangle, we’ll be talking about them today and their personalities. So, one of the brothers, who is Jeremiah, and Belly soon got together, but things took a turn. So, Belly is now looking for the brother who will put in the effort and all their time into being with her. So now, it’s who will pick her?
Hinnant: So, another character that was in the love triangle is Conrad Fisher. Now, a lot of fans like him for his looks, and a bunch of people say he’s cute or whatever, but today I’ll be talking about his flaws. So, one of the main things a lot of viewers saw was — why would he confess his love for his brother’s girlfriend? That’s the main thing they saw. And then another thing… I don’t say — so, another thing fans saw that they didn’t really like was that he could never commit to a relationship with Belly. And that’s when he and Jeremiah started fighting over her. And now we can talk about Belly — the true star.
Perez: So, Belly is one of the main characters in the show The Summer I Turned Pretty, and she’s indecisive about who she’s going to pick next. It has families and fans confused about who she’s going to pick next, but it makes it interesting. So, next we’re going to go on to interviews and see what people have to say.
Hinnant: Hi, I’m Brooklyn, and this is Allison. And today I’ll be interviewing her about The Summer I Turned Pretty. So, which one is your favorite character?
Allison Canada: My favorite character in there… let’s see. It has to be Taylor.
Hinnant: Taylor. Okay. I like Taylor, too. Yeah. So, we just did a video covering Conrad, Jeremiah, and Belly — so, those three, correct?
Canada: Correct.
Hinnant: What’s your opinion on the love triangle?
Canada: Okay, I think Jeremiah’s definitely a man-baby. Like, cool — he’s cute — but he’s such, like, a frat boy. And he’s just — he’s not a man.
Hinnant: Yeah.
Canada: And then Conrad, on the other hand, I feel like he’s just not fully emotionally there. I don’t think that’s healthy for Belly. I think he needs to really work on himself before he tries anything with Belly.
And Belly — I feel like she’s just lost in this mess, and she doesn’t know who she is, which is why she went to Paris to figure that out. But I still feel like she’s really lost.
Hinnant: So, with that being said, who do you think is right for Belly in the show? If there was one you had to choose from, face off.
Canada: Okay, I think I’m going to go off on who would actually, like, treat her right. And I would have to say it’s Conrad.
Hinnant: Conrad. Okay. I agree. All right, so that’s it. I’m Brooklyn.
Canada: I’m Allison.
Both: Peace out!

You can tell they acturally like what their talking about and know their topics. It doesn’t look like their reading off a script but that they just like their topic and know a lot about it. This is a really good start for there broadcasting.
