In 2011 Senior David Carlson set the record for number of pancakes during a football game. Carlson inspired senior Jose Nuno to break this record.

“Pancakes are described as running into the other player and slamming them to the ground,” Coach Paul Gomez said.

A couple of weeks ago, Nuno broke Carlson’s record during the Central Catholic game. Nuno had fourteen pancakes while Carlson had eight.

“I was honored and very ecstatic to break such a prestigious record,” Nuno said.

Nuno couldn’t have done this without the support of the coaching staff, his friends, or his family. He’s been trying to break the record since his sophomore year.

“Without my brothers, friends and family, I don’t think I would have achieved my goal,” Nuno said.

According to Head Coach Chad Quisenberry and Coach Gomez, the season is going really well, they’ve played bigger schools that helped them prepare for district and they’re very proud of their efforts.

“Each week we try to improve more from the last game,” Coach Quisenberry said.
