FFA competes at district LDE competition
January 6, 2015
FFA is one of the many aspects that make up DHS. Members of this club gain agricultural knowledge as well as leadership skills that benefit their futures. As the semester wraps up, they prepare for future success.
“It takes dedication and a love for agriculture,” sophomore Colton Bean said.
Members continue to show their appreciation for what FFA has to offer through competitions. They strived for success at the district LDEs in Hondo.
“I competed in senior chapter conducting and senior quiz,” Bean said.
The members expect a positive outcome in the future because of their hard work and experience from previous competitions. Further preparation is necessary for even more success.
“We are preparing for district CDEs next semester,” senior Alyssa Schmidt said.
Each member contributes to representing our school’s success, especially the leaders. They have high standards for other FFA members and hope to set a good example.
“As a reporter, I report on any events held in our chapter and lead other FFA members in the right direction,” junior Cole Yanta said.
Other than agricultural values, members can also take away new friendships and leadership skills.
“It’s fun competing with other FFA members and also meeting people who I share the same interests with,” Yanta said.
