Track hits the ground running
January 23, 2015
Track success has motivated each athlete in being the best they can be. They devote their time in each workout to better their chances in reaching goals as individuals as well as a team.
“Last year we were close to going to state, and this year we are determined to go further than before,” sophomore Tyler Carter said.
Previous seasons motivate athletes to strive for further success in their events and set standards for upcoming meets.
“We hope to beat the record in the 4×2 relay with a time of 1 minute and 29 seconds,” Carter said.
As far as competing against new districts, athletes are confident in rising to the occasion.
“We met our new district competitors at regionals last year and proved that we can beat them,” Carter said.
All of the hard work will soon pay off as athletes strive for success at their first meet on Feb. 21 as well as future meets.
“Workouts prepare us for the season ahead and make us stronger and faster for future success,” senior Katelyn Riggs said.
