Devine’s tennis team is ready to leap into another season of spring tennis. Every player is eager to compete and start the new season off strong. The players started their first real practice Monday, January 12. Their first pre-district tournament is coming up soon, and the tennis players are preparing for what is to come.

“Our first practice had a successful start,” sophomore Tristan Woods said. ”It made us all excited for what is to come this season.”

With this year’s new district, the upcoming tennis season is going to be most challenging one yet. Every tennis player is going to have to work harder than ever in order to compete with his or her competition.

“We have been practicing as much as we can in order to be prepared for our new competition, ” sophomore Colton Bean said. “The more we practice, the better we get.”

Since there were no seniors on last year’s tennis team, the entire team is back this year with more experience than ever before. Each individual tennis player is more experienced than last year, making them confident and ready to face whatever competition they are going to face.

“I feel like we are ready to face our competition because we are more ready than ever before,” Woods said.

The tennis players are ready to show the new competition what they are made of. With many upcoming pre-district meets, the players are going to have many opportunities to compete and get better as they go. Everything they do will lead up to the big district meet further down the road.

“It is exciting to see how far we can make it as a team and as individuals,” Bean said. “It is definitely going to be a very fun experience.”
