Volleyball season comes to an end

Finishing the season as Area Champions has prepared the returning members of the varsity Arabian volleyball team for the season to come.
“It’s interesting to see the competition,” sophomore Abbie Capps said, “It gets me excited for the years to come, to try and advance past the teams that beat us this year.”
Even though for some it might have been their last high school volleyball game, they played together as a team until the last point was given.
“It was bittersweet,” senior Alyssa Schmidt said, “On one hand I am ready to start my life in college but I’m sad to see this chapter of my life come to a close.”
Bittersweet but rewarding can describe the ladies’ season. All their hard work on and off the court allowed all of the Arabians to receive Academic All- District, and some received first and second team All- District, and even honorable mention.
“If it wasn’t for us working hard during school and on the court as well we wouldn’t have received the academic title,” junior Kara Stacy said.
The Arabians had been working harder than ever to get as far as they did. Practices were tough, but they managed through with a little bit of sweat and a lot of perseverance.
“We knew that the hard work would eventually pay off,” freshman Addie Trojanowski said. “When we went to the playoffs we knew all the effort we put into practice would be worth our while.”
Everyday practice lead to another game in the gym, with parents, friends, students, and cheerleaders cheering the girls to victory.
“Cheering for the Arabians was a great feeling, knowing that we are right there with them the whole way through,” senior Jessica Gonzalez said. “Because it’s our senior year, we wanted to make sure that we went to all of the games we could so we could be there to support our girls.”
The Arabians fought for many months and endless days during practices and it did pay off for them in the end. It transformed them into a tough, hard working group of girls that took each game to heart and led them to their area champion title.
