Arabian basketball begins
January 6, 2015
Starting the season off strong, the Arabian basketball team is 14-1. Returning the majority of the team from last year, they look forward to another long playoff run.
“14-1 is a good start, but we’re not done yet,” junior Baylee Quisenberry said.
The team was Regional Quarter-Final champs last year and the ladies expect to surpass that this year.
“This is our best start in years, but we’re nowhere near where we want to be,” junior Kara Stacy said.
The team got first place at the Marion tournament and second place at the Cole tournament.
“We’ve had a great season so far, and I can’t wait to see what’s to come,” junior Elyse Espinosa said.
The Arabians are having an impressive start but are working to continuing their success in district and the playoffs.
“We are really happy with the progress we’ve made this season and we’re really excited to improve over the rest of the season,” senior Sarah Terrazas said.
The team plays the Marion Bulldogs this Friday, Dec. 19, at the AT&T Center at 11:30 a.m.
“It’s a fun experience playing in the AT&T Center,” sophomore Jenna Sadler said. “Marion will be a good game for us because we have already seen them. We just have to keep up our intensity and work together and play as a team.”
This season, the Arabians beat Marion in their own tournament.
“We are looking forward to playing in the AT&T Center and beating Marion twice,” Quisenberry said.
