After Saturday’s matches against the Somerset Bulldogs the Arabian and Warhorse tennis teams left the courts with a boatload of confidence.
The boys and girls varsity combined played a total of 14 matches.
Out of the 14 matches they combined to have a total of zero losses.
“Our players played very well,” head coach Kandi Darnell said. “We are beginning to see the results of the hard work put forth through the last few weeks.”
Sophomore Alyssa Ramirez played two singles matches, and had quite a bit of success in winning both of her matches.
“Last weekend’s matches were a real good training for the district meet,” Alyssa said. “I’m just hoping to continue my hard work and be ready for the district meet.”
The JV also competed against Somerset this weekend. They had a combined total of ten wins and only three losses.
“I am really proud of how I played against Somerset,” Freshman Oscar Gonzales said “I’m anxiously awaiting to see how the rest of the seasons goes.”
The teams will be competing in their first tournament of the year this upcoming Friday and Saturday. They will be traveling down to Uvalde to put their hard work and dedication to use.
