As November begins, so does basketball season. Devine basketball is about to kick off, as they compete in the first games and scrimmages of the season.
“There’s nothing better than when basketball season finally gets here,” sophomore Trevor Cook said. “Everyone is excited to get back in the gym. I have a feeling this season is going to be a lot of fun.”
The Arabian basketball team is off to a great start. They traveled to Pleasanton this past weekend for their first tournament of the year. The young Arabian team competed well, claiming runner-up in what was a tough tournament filled with 4-A teams.
“We played really well all throughout the tournament. We still need some work but we’ll get there,” senior Lyandra Zulaica said. “I’m excited to see how this season will turn out. We have a very young but exciting team this year. We’ll only get better as we mature and start playing well with each other.”
The Warhorses have looked sharp through their first two scrimmages against Utopia and Marion. With football season now over, the Warhorses will only get better as the season goes along.
