What is happiness? It’s what we all live for, and what we ultimately hope to achieve in all that we do. It can be found almost anywhere, but it is considered in different ways to different people. It warms your heart, and it’s good for the soul; which is why nothing and no one should ever keep you from having it.
What stands between you and happiness shouldn’t be an obstacle too big to overcome. There are great things behind that door, and you have the key to unlock it; you just have to use it. You know what makes you happy, and you should accept that; you shouldn’t let any other forces push you away from it. At the end of the day, you’re the one who has to deal with your decisions. You’re the one constantly thinking about it, and ultimately, you’re the one living it.
Despite how hard you may try, you can’t ignore your own thoughts no matter how loud everyone else’s opinion seems to be. Sometimes what others think makes you want to reevaluate how you really feel. However, when it comes to battling your true emotions, sometimes a battle lost is a battle won. Although you may be giving up the act everyone else approves of, you would finally be happy for yourself, and not other people.
Despite who’s opinion is right and who’s is wrong, everything happens for a reason, and what is meant to be will be; so you might as well live the way that makes you happy while you’re still in the moment. Honestly, life’s too short to live it any other way.
I try to think about it the way Ralph Emerson did; “For every minute you are angry, you lose sixty seconds of happiness.” Time flies by faster than you think, and aside from all the other goals I’ve set in my life, the one I truly want to obtain is to be genuinely happy.
I don’t want to remember a regretful life, I want to remember a great life. I’ve been blessed with endless things in my life, and I know I have many reasons to be happy. At the end of the day, I have people who love me, and a future ahead of me. When things are looking up, why should I ever hang my head low? Sometimes things can seem a little complex and complicated, and it all becomes a blur; but if we put the simple things in focus, it’ll all become clearer.
