Students helped celebrate Red Ribbon week with a pep-rally at the elementary on Monday, Oct. 27. Cheerleaders, band members, FCCLA members, FFA members, volleyball players, cross country runners and football players gathered to stand up against drugs.

“It was fun seeing all the kids interact with us while we did cheers to stand up against drugs,” senior varsity cheerleader Alyssa Ramirez said.

Eager to be drug free the kids stood up and cheered along while pledging to be drug free.

“I loved how all the kids interacted and said be drug free, they seemed inspired, I was glad to be there to inspire them,” FCCLA Regional Officer Vanessa Hernandez said.

FFA members Michaela Bean and Clark Toalson also attended the rally to present the national and state flags.

“It was an honor to be able to do the presentation of colors at the drug free pep rally,” senior Michaela Bean said. “The fifth graders that followed us were super cute and excited to be drug free, which is what it was all about.”
