Lunch with Allison Ep. 1 | Bingeable TV Shows & Characters We Love.
Welcome to Lunch with Allison — a brand-new series straight from the DHS lunchroom and campus grounds. Since Texas public school students can’t use phones in class, here at DHS, we’re keeping it real during lunch break.
In Episode 1, students share their most binge-worthy TV shows (the ones you just have to watch “one more episode” of) and the characters they’re obsessed with.
Hello, Divine. This is Lunch Catchup, and today we are going to discuss your favorite shows and TV.
Ooh, I like Castle. Who’s your favorite character in Castle so far?
(Mackenzie Hennessey) I have to say Kate Becket. She’s like, you know, inspiration right there.
Do you approve of Castle pursuing her?
Yes, I do. Of course. All the time.
So cute.

Well, thank you for the interview.

Uh, I’m Kate Hurst, and I’m a sophomore.
Cool. Are you into any shows right now?
Um, I’m getting into some, but not really into — if that makes sense.
Yeah. Are there any shows you’re currently watching?
Uh, Steven Universe.
Ooh, okay. And what’s like a favorite scene or a favorite character from it?
Definitely Garnet. Just everything about consent.
That is wonderful to hear. Well, thank you for the interview.

Cool. Is there any show that you’re currently into?

Nice, nice. Is there a favorite character or scene that you like from that show?
There’s this one scene where my favorite character, Jake, and his buddy Finn are fighting this eldritch tree, and he says, “Tell the tree gods of tree heaven that I sent you.” I thought it was hilarious.
Good to know. And that is it. Thank you for the interview.
My name is Eisenhower, and I’m a sophomore.
Good to know. Are there any current shows that you’re into?
I’m into Supernatural right now.
Ooh. Which brother is your favorite?
I would have to say—
Is there a particular reason?
Um, he has like a lot of, like— he gives like little brother vibes ’cause he’s like the little brother. It’s like he’s also the big brother. Like the way he just like— he’s like— he gives the little brother energy, but he acts like the big brother.
Yeah.
Cool. Well, thank you for the interview, and I hope you have a good day.
My name’s Evelyn Garcia, and I’m in ninth grade.
My name is Madison, and I’m in ninth grade.
Good to know. And what are y’all’s favorite shows y’all are currently watching?
Um, Paw Patrol.
Paw Patrol.

That is wonderful to hear. Okay. What are some great characters or scenes from that show that you like?
Um, um, Marshall.
Marshall’s your favorite?
My favorite is the main character.
Frankie. Frankie, right?
Yeah, Frankie. We love Frankie.
Who’s your favorite boyfriend that she’s had?
I don’t even know what’s going on over here.
I don’t know. But I also like Draculaura.
Oh, Draculaura is good. I love her.
But I also like the mummies. My favorite boyfriend is the snake guy.
Oh, I know what you’re talking about. It’s Chloe —
No, Cleo. Cleo and, what’s his name?
I don’t know. I know.
Always called him Stone Dude.
Stone Dude, ’cause he turns into stone like Medusa.
Yeah.
My name is Jordan. I am a junior.
My name is Leland. I’m a freshman.
Good to know. Okay. What are some previous shows you are currently watching?
I’m currently watching Invincible.
I’m currently watching Andor: Star Wars.
Yeah.
Okay, cool. What are your favorite characters or scenes from that movie or show?
My favorite character is Invincible, obviously, because I like the main characters. And my favorite scene is him against the man.
Valid, valid. And yours?
My favorite character is named Ken Andor. My favorite scene from the movie is when, oh man, his favorite duel against blasters and Star Troopers.
Nice, nice. Well, thank you, Jordan brothers, and y’all have a good day.
I’m from the YouTube crowd, and uh, I’m from the 10th grade, and I’m running for class president.
Oh, cool. Fascinating. So this will get your story out there. So what is your favorite show you’re currently watching?
Uh, I don’t really watch shows. I watch more clips of shows, but I’d say my favorite is Family Guy.
Lovely. We all love a good Family Guy. And what is your favorite clip that you’ve seen?
There are a lot of good ones out there. My favorite character is probably, uh, Stewie.
Stewie Griffin. We all love him. Truly, the baby’s family. Well, thank you for the interview. Hopefully, this will help people get to know you, future president. And that’ll be it. Have a good day.
You too.
My name is Madison Tupper, and I’m a freshman.
Awesome. Is there a particular TV show that you started watching or are into right now?
Actually, yes. There’s a TV show called How to Train Your Dragon: Race to the Edge. I’ve actually finished it, but I don’t remember all of it, so I’m actually rewatching it, and I’m almost done with it.
Awesome. Is there a favorite character or a favorite episode, or a scene that you like?
My favorite character is actually Toothless, who is kind of the main character in it. He’s a dragon. He’s one of the last Night Furies in the movie. And there’s actually an episode called Toothless with Hiccup, and Hiccup’s his trainer. And it’s all about them, and they’re like playing around, and they’re in this cave, and they get trapped in the cave, and they end up blasting a hole through the cave. And then they get surprised by everyone’s friends. It was like a birthday surprise kind of thing.
Oh, that’s cool. That’s very sweet. Well, thank you for the interview, and I hope you have a good day.
And that was all the TV shows — the latest news.
