I’m Rowdy.
I’m Riley.
I’m Cole.
I’m Eli.
And this is our show, Divining VHS.
We got our guest right now. Come on in. Come on in. Introduce yourself. Introduce yourself.
Jackson: Hagorn. What up? What up?
Our next guest, Mario.
And last, QB Carter Brown.
All right. Right here. He’s going to start our—
I’m asking questions today, guys. So, Jackson, first question goes to you. How’d you play yesterday? How’d you feel?
Jackson: You know, I think I played pretty good, honestly, but there’s so much we can improve on, and so I’m never satisfied. So, on to the next.
Rowdy: Yeah. Carter, saw you QB.
Carter: I think I played decent. Got a lot to work on, you know, and uh just got to get better every week.
Rowdy: I like that. Okay. All right. Mario, how do you know?
Mario: Um, obviously could have done better. Uh, I think I did pretty well. Team slacking. We came up later on though. I think we were just tired cuz we all slept on that hot bus. But other than that, we did pretty well, not going to lie. Better than I expected.
Rowdy: What about you, Cole? How’d you feel?
Cole: Felt pretty good. Conditions were good. Wasn’t too hot. Had a little bit of wind. Obviously, that played a factor in throwing the ball. Carter knows. But I think we, uh, overall we stepped it up towards the end.
Rowdy: All right, boys. Besides offense, all right, how are you feeling about defense, boys?
Eli: Um, I think the D-line and linebackers were a big factor last night. Definitely think we shocked a lot of people not expecting us to do as good as we did, and then secondary always coming in un-clutch when they throw them deep balls. But besides that, I think our defense is going to carry this year.
Rowdy: So, as a corner, I believe that we weren’t communicating as well. Mario, how do you feel about our communication yesterday?
Mario: To be honest, I only did like three plays. Um, they didn’t really need me. But I mean, last year we did really good on communicating. I mean, people yell at each other — I could hear Aiden yelling from across the field. But this year, it’s just quiet. You just got to get used to it.
Carter: Yeah. People don’t understand when you can’t hear middle game.
Rowdy: I’ve been playing on defense.
Eli: You had three snaps.
Mario: Yeah, I had three snaps. Didn’t do anything.
Rowdy: I saw you come down on that one block.
Rowdy: Carter, what’s going on with your jaw?
Carter: I think I dislocated my jaw. I was for one snap. I’m okay though.
Rowdy: You got a jaw— a lock jaw.
Carter: That’s right.
Rowdy: And uh, how do y’all feel about next week against Navarro?
Eli: Man, we’ve been playing Navarro since we were them youngins back in the day. Status right now, but you know— but no, I’m excited next week to prove we can beat them because they’ve molly-walked us in the past. We will be— we will beat them, actually.
Rowdy: Well, speaking of youngins, y’all are all seniors. How are y’all feeling? What are y’all’s goals for senior year?
Carter: Make it out.
Cole: Long, long season. I’m excited.
Eli: Win a playoff game. That’s that one.
Rowdy: That’s right. I’m excited. And you, Mario?
Mario: What was the question? I’m sorry.
Rowdy: Uh, how do you think about next week?
Mario: Oh, no. Um, yeah. I don’t— they’re not going to be the same. Yeah, they switched our offense. So, the secondary is going to have to come in clutch.
Eli: Personally, I think how we started at the beginning is really going to wake us up from this week to next week. I think we’re going to be ready this time, and we’re going to molly— catch us Thursday night.
Rowdy: Thursday night, stadium scrimmage. Don’t pull up. Don’t pull up.
Eli: I need your— against Navar— against that defense. I feel terrible, but we’re Divine Wars.
Rowdy: So, Carter.
Rowdy: All right, boys. That’s all for today. We’ll see you next week.
